Binalakshmi Nepram

Binalakshmi Nepram co-founded India’s first civil society organisation dedicated to conventional disarmament issues, Control Arms Foundation India. In 2007 she founded the Manipur Women Gun Survivor Network to support women who are affected by gun violence. The group assists women with loans to cover school fees, medical bills, and legal assistance. In 2010 she received the Sean MacBride Peace Prize and in 2011 she was named Indian of the year for her public service.Binalakshmi Nepram
