Hassan Bubacar Jallow

Hassan Bubacar Jallow is Prosecutor for the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, an international tribunal established by the UN in order to prosecute those responsible for the Rwandan genocide in 1994. It has aided understanding of what occurred in Rwanda, and has been very influential in the development of the laws surrounding genocide. Notably, the tribunal confirmed that rape can be a crime of genocide, and it imposed life sentences on three men charged with inciting genocide through the media, specifically through radio transmissions.
