Ruhfus reports with a strong focus on the human stories behind the news, and aims to uncover the political, social and economic factors which often drive these conflicts in the first place. Her work into the deeper psychological experience of conflict was rewarded with a Dart Fellowship in Trauma and Journalism in 2010 and a scholarship for the Harvard MA Global Mental Health Program in 2011.
