Lara Logan is South African television and radio journalist, and war correspondent. She is the chief foreign affairs correspondent for CBS News, and a correspondent for CBS’s 60 Minutes. She has reported from the frontline of Afghanistan and Iraq, often embedded with the U.S. military. In February 2011, whilst on assignment in Egypt, Logan was sexually assaulted and beaten by a mob in Cairo’s Tahrir Square. She used her experience to publicly draw attention to the plight of female journalists covering war zones. Her reporting has earned her a series of awards, including the 2007 Association of International Broadcasters’ Best International News Story Award for her report on the Taliban.
