Sarah Holewinski

Sarah Holewinski is Executive Director of the Center for Civilians in Conflict (CIVIC). CIVIC advocates for combatants to show greater responsibility to civilians before, during and after conflict. This includes calling on warring parties to provide recognition and assistance to civilian victims. Their work has included supporting the development of a civilian casualty tracking cell in Afghanistan and assisting with the drafting of a new indirect fire policy for troops in Somalia. Before working for CIVIC, Holewinski was a member of the AIDS policy team in President Clinton’s White House.
