Steve Killelea is a successful businessman and the founder of the Institute for Economics and Peace, a think tank which looks at how peace can be a measure of human wellbeing and progress. Each year the Institute publishes the Global Peace Index which ranks countries according to their ‘absence of violence’. The index uses indicators ranging from the level of military expenditure to the percentage of the population incarcerated.
