In collaboration with the APPG on Landmines and Unexploded Weapons of Conflict, AOAV would like to invite interested experts and organisations to the upcoming two-day conference “Finding a Better Way – Innovation and New Thinking in Mine-Action“. The event will be held on 15 and 16 September at the Royal Geographical Society in London.
The aim of the conference is to consider how new technology, new techniques, and new thought can be used to make the delivery of all pillars of mine-action safer, faster and more effective.
Side events will discuss:
- Victim support and capacity building;
- Poverty reduction and economic stabilisation;
- Funding and support streams for mine-action.
One of the sessions will be run by Steven Smith MBE, Chief Executive of Action on Armed Violence.
A provisional conference agenda and booking form will be circulated in July.
If you or your organisation would like to present a paper or run a workshop at the conference, please contact Nigel Ellway, Coordinator of the APPG on Landmines.
Places will be strictly limited, so please be sure to register early. Delegates who are also attending the Action on Armed Violence/Chatham House Conference on IEDs will be given preference.
