British Foreign Office Minister Tobias Ellwood MP – AOAV hopes that the British Government will adopt a strong policy critical of the use of explosive weapons in populated areas.

British Foreign Office Minister Tobias Ellwood MP is to address the first meeting of the new APPG on Explosive Weapons at Tuesday 13th October. In partnership with Action on Armed Violence, Roger Mullin MP, who is Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Explosive Weapons, will set out the work ahead for the APPG.

Such work will including inquiries into child bombers, victim support for those affected by explosive weapons, the role of humanitarian agencies in addressing explosive weapon harm and the role of policy makers and legislators in seeing to reduce explosive weapons use in populated areas.

The CEO of Action on Armed Violence, Steve Smith, is to present data from AOAV’s explosive violence monitor.
