Straits Times cites AOAV’s data in case against air strikes on Syria

In a debate of ‘for’ or ‘against’ air strikes in Syria by the British Government, AOAV’s data helps support – naturally – the against side of the debate.

‘Too difficult to distinguish between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ guys” runs the headline by European Correspondent Jonathan Eyal.

‘Mr Cameron’s critics also challenged him to prove how he can ensure that air strikes will not kill civilians or generate “collateral damage”. “Air strikes in populated areas caused 3,165 civilian deaths and injuries in the year up to August,” claims Action on Armed Violence.’

Our position on air strikes on Syria is neatly summed up in this post: Striking Syria will only increase civilian harm.
