The Inter Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA) was established in 1999 to fight money laundering. Its mandate was expanded in January 2006 to incorporate countering terrorism financing.

GIABA members include: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo.
