Explosive violence by the US-led coalition

Over the past decade (2014-2023), AOAV has recorded 750 incidents of explosive weapons use attributed to the US-led coalition. The coalition is reportedly responsible for 5,331 civilian casualties (4,049 killed) and 5,489 armed actor casualties (5,038 killed. ​​

Attacks attributed to the US-led coalition have been recorded in Syria (3,752 civilian casualties), Iraq (1,567), Afghanistan (10), Libya (2), Yemen (no civilian casualties), and Pakistan (no civilian casualties). ​​

Air-launched weapons account for all civilian casualties attributed to the US-led coalition. ​​

The majority of civilian casualties were recorded in coalition attacks across multiple urban areas, which account for 28% (1,501) of civilian casualties. Other locations impacted by attacks attributed to the US-led coalition include urban residential areas (1,224 civilian casualties), villages (953), schools (354), commercial premises (272), and places of worship (251).
