2 killed and 28 injured in car explosion in busy Nangarhar market – latest in series of explosive attacks.
On Monday 20 June, 2 civilians were killed and 23 injured when a vehicle exploded in a busy market. Five Taliban members were also injured.

Up to 50 Killed in Bombing of Khalifa Sahib Mosque, Kabul
The leader of Kabul’s Khalifa Sahib Mosque says more than 50 worshippers were killed and scores injured in the explosion on Friday 29th April. Official reports record ten deaths and 15 injuries, but numbers are likely much higher.

Nine People Killed and 13 Injured in Sixth Islamic State Attack in Afghanistan this April
On Thursday 28th April, nine civilians were killed and 13 injured in explosions on two minibusses in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack, which was targeted at Shia Muslim passengers.

IS and IS-Affiliated Explosive Violence in 2022
In 2022, 27 incidents have been attributed to IS and IS-affiliated groups in English language reporting, resulting in 172 civilian casualties recorded by AOAV (41 killed and 131 injured). Nine of those incidents (33%) have taken place in April, and account for 78% (134) of recorded civilian casualties of IS and IS-affiliated violence in 2022 so far.
