Improvised Explosive Devices

The use of improvised explosive devices in populated areas is a major concern. AOAV are at the forefront of international efforts to mitigate the severe human suffering caused by the use of such weapons. We record how they kill, injure, and destroy the lives of tens of thousands of civilians each year. Our policy is that IEDS are unacceptable for use in populated areas and that much more needs to be done to address their harm.
