Two sons of a prominent Basra sheikh were killed in separate incidents involving British forces in 2003, one at a checkpoint and another at an oil facility, yet despite admissions of error, eyewitness testimony and repeated attempts to seek redress, neither death was ever fully investigated nor compensated.
