In 2025, AOAV recorded 49,814 deaths and injuries as a result of the use of explosive weapons around the world, the second-highest levels recorded since 2010. With 45,362 civilians among these casualties – 91% of all those reported killed or wounded by explosive weapons globally – 2025 was the second most injurious year for civilians since the EVMP began. 39% (17,614) of these civilians were reported killed.

From 13 to 19 October 2023, AOAV has recorded 217 incidents of explosive violence around the world, and 1,619 civilian casualties.

20 people were killed and around 300 injured during clashes in Baghdad’s Green Zone.

On the evening of 6 August, and without prior warning, Israeli warplanes launched 6 missiles at a 3-storey house in Rafah refugee camp.

In June 2022, Action on Armed Violence recorded 2,442 deaths and injuries from 399 incidents of explosive violence around the world, as reported in English-language media. Civilians accounted for 71% (1,730) of the deaths and injuries recorded.
