On October 10th, 29 civilians were killed and 57 injured when an IDP camp in Kachin state was bombed.
Since the military coup on 1st February 2021, Myanmar’s military government has responded with increasing violence to both civil and armed resistance.
At least 165 people were killed in a military airstrike on 11 April 2022.
In January 2023, Action on Armed Violence recorded 3,211 deaths and injuries from 524 incidents of explosive violence around the world, as reported in English-language media. Civilians accounted for 50% (1,614) of the deaths and injuries recorded.
