cpaddLocation: Ouidah, Benin

Type: Private

With the support of France, Benin created CPADD, a regionally focused training centre. The centre provides advice and assistance to African countries affected by landmines and ERW, with a particular focus on demining and peacekeeping operations.

Alongside various EOD, demining and ammunition management courses, the school also runs an IED awareness course which raises awareness of the dangers posed by IEDs. The course focuses on technical and tactical concepts related to IEDs and is aimed at military, national security and other personnel likely to face IEDs.

The courses are led by experts from around the globe.

Last year the CPADD ran 12 courses and trained over 200 personnel. It looks set to even double this in 2016.
