The Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) was established in 2015. GCERF aims to facilitate grassroots initiatives to prevent radicalisation and violent extremism.
The fund looks to support community-level initiatives promoting tolerance and refuting extremist agendas. These could seek to address insecurity for young people or target other vulnerable groups in the local area and within national strategies. Initiatives could look to facilitate education, skills learning, job creation, peace journalism, disseminating information, community empowerment, media initiatives.
