The Swedish Bomb Data Centre (BDC) is part of the Swedish Security Services. The Centre collects, analyses and supplies information on bomb related incidents in Sweden and abroad.

Part of this work involves information-sharing on the incidents recorded and the centre considers this activity as part of its support services to other police authorities nationally and those of its international allies.

Those involved in the work of the Swedish BDC include:

  • Bomb Technicians at the Police Authority
  • National Forensic Center
  • Defence Research
  • National Task Force

With the belief that information-sharing is essential to C-IED work, the BDC participates in the International Bomb Data Center Working Group (IBDCWG).

This profile is part of AOAV’s investigation into counter-IED (C-IED) actors around the globe. To see the list of all C-IED actors recorded by AOAV, see here. To see those engaged in the Middle East, the Sahel, North Africa or other highly impacted countries please see here, here, here, and here respectively. This research was made possible by funding from the NATO Counter Improvised Explosive Devices Centre of Excellence (C-IED COE).
