Teledyne ICM produces portable x-ray equipment for a wide variety of users. One of the areas for which they produce these technologies is for those working in the field of C-IED.

Bomb squads and other EOD teams generally use there FLATSCAN15 and FLATSCAN30 products. The FLATSCAN30 can scan the entire surface of almost all suspect objects or abandoned luggage. It is generally used by military, police and other security personnel.

Meanwhile, the FLATSCAN15 is small and light so can succeed in scanning suspicious objects in the most hard to reach places. This makes it highly useful in the C-IED field, responding quickly to immediate and changing threats.

The FLATSCAN15 and FLATSCAN30 both quickly produce a clear and detailed image of the inside of any object. This even applies to objects placed behind up to 30 mm of steel.

This profile is part of AOAV’s investigation into counter-IED (C-IED) actors around the globe. To see the list of all C-IED actors recorded by AOAV, see here. To see those engaged in the Middle East, the Sahel, North Africa or other highly impacted countries please see here, here, here, and here respectively. This research was made possible by funding from the NATO Counter Improvised Explosive Devices Centre of Excellence (C-IED COE).
